Standard options include road wheels (spoked or Minilites with centre knock-offs), tyres, steering wheel design, seatbelts (3-point or full harness) and trim colour.

    Cooper Healey Made in SA

    Local Knysna classic car enthusiast family the Coopers, are building an Austin-Healey replica to international standards. Father Ricky and sons Marck and Gavin have set up a manufacturing facility in Knysna which is creating an exciting sport car in the tradition of the famous 1960's sports car, the Austin-Healey 100/6 with BMW 325i mechanicals.

    BMW Provides Engine and Mechanicals

    The Cooper Healey is powered by a BMW E30 325i which has been totally restored, overhauled and rebuilt to new standards, including new oil and water pumps, pistons, rings and bearings.. The suspension, and most of the running gear, are derived from the same BMW. The outcome is a car with more than enough performance and torque to ensure an exciting and satisfying driving experience.

    Famous British Sports car recreated

    The Austin Healey 100/6 was a classic British sports car built between 1956 and 1959. The name 100 came from the car's ability to reach 100 mph (160km/h). A 117 bhp (87 kW) BN6 was tested by The Motor magazine in 1959 and had a top speed of 103.9 mph (167.2 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 10.7 seconds. A fuel consumption of 20.8 miles per gallon (13.6 L/100 km was recorded. The test car cost £1307 including taxes of £436.
